Walking For A Cure

Ribbon

September 16, 2008

182,000.  That's a big number.  Statistically, that is the number of women who will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2008.  41,000 women will die.  All of us are impacted by this disease.  One in eight women will have invasive breast cancer in her life time and 1 in 35 will die.  The women don't suffer alone.  Whole families are affected.

With early detection and improved treatment, we hope to bring these horrifying statistics down.   On October 4th I am walking with my niece Kaitlyn in the Terri Broudeur Breast Cancer Foundation's 3rd Annual Walk Across Southeastern Connecticut to help raise money for cancer research.  The walk covers 26.2 miles from Old Saybrook to Waterford.

We'd love to have you there to cheer us on, but if you can't be there in person, please be with us in spirit, that will help.  If you want to learn more about the walk or this wonderful organization, please visit the TBBCF website at  www.terribrodeurbreastcancerfoundation.org.
